Classes

Our class space has 8 separate work stations.  Each station is fully equipped with basic jewelry tools for our class projects.

The benches are also used for non-jewelry classes by some of our talented guest instructors.  The range of possibilities for sit down classes is almost endless and throughout the year you will see other than jewelry classes being offered.

We offer classes for a variety of skill levels and interests. Read about our current offerings below and follow the instructions to enroll today. Contact us with any questions or class recommendations.

first step - boot camp for jewelry making

boot+camp+promo-square.jpg

Date:  Thursday October 18, 2018   (6PM-9PM)

Instructor: John Dynan

Cost:  $60, including materials

Skill Level: Novice to Intermediate

Available Seats: 4

Techniques:  This class will introduce students to the basics of sawing metal using the jewelers saw and the basics of soldering, using a hand-held torch.

Prerequisites/Skills needed: Must be at least 16 years of age.

We feel if the students attending our classes have some basic knowledge of using the normal jewelry tools for the classes we host.  Having the skills set of using the jewelers saw and soldering fundamentals will be needed for your future classes.  This class will be a prerequisite for attendance to the advanced metal working courses we offer.

In this “Boot Camp” you will learn how to use the standard jewelers saw, how to load the saw blade, make straight, curved and angle saw cuts.  This is important since metal is sold in sheets and your design pattern will need to be cut from that sheet of metal.

Soldering is something that is misunderstood.  Many feel it’s a skill that is difficult to learn let alone master.  We will take the mystery out of soldering silver or other metals using basic tools available to you.

This class will cover a lot of material and skillsets.  You will make 2 silver band rings that will require sawing, soldering and finishing to a high polish.
