Soldering Boot Camp

Level: Novice to Intermediate | Available Seats: 6

Technique:  This class will introduce students to the basics of sawing metal using the jewelers saw and the basics of soldering, using a hand-held torch.

Prerequisites/Skills needed: Must be at least 16 years of age.

We feel if the students attending our classes have some basic knowledge of using the normal jewelry tools then the classes we host, can cover more material.  Having the skill set of using the jewelers saw and some soldering fundamentals will need to be the basic core skill for some of our future projects.  This class will be a prerequisite for attendance to the advance metal working courses we will offer.

In this “Boot Camp” you will learn how to use the standard jewelers saw, how to load the saw blade, make straight, curved and angle saw cuts.  This is important since metal is sold in sheets and your design pattern will need to be cut from that sheet of metal.

Soldering is something that is misunderstood.  Many feel it’s a skill that is difficult to learn let alone master.  We will take the mystery out of soldering silver or other metals using basic tools available to you.

This class will cover a lot of material and skillsets.  You will make a silver band ring that will require sawing, soldering and finishing to a high polish.

To learn more and enroll in this class, please order your tickets using our secure event portal.

If the class has sold out, we may offer a second class.  We need a minimum number of 4 to hold an additional class. Please add your name to the stand-by list by sending us an email.
